Affirmation of Baptism Class
The Affirmation of Baptism class for 6th-8th graders is currently on summer break. Classes will resume on Sunday, September 14, at 10 a.m. meeting in the Great Hall with classes running until late May or early June. Affirmation of Baptism class registration for the 2025-2026 program year is open now. You can click here or the registration button at the bottom of the page to register your child for the Affirmation of Baptism class. Though your child is welcome to attend if you do not register, registering provides important information about your child and provides the needed contact information so you can be kept informed about what is going on with the Affirmation of Baptism ministry at Saint Luke. While the middle school youth meet, PreK-5th graders and high school youth also have classes and there is an adult education class called Up for Discussion. There are also periodic adult classes led by Pastor Miller or others.
In addition to weekly classes for the 6th-8th graders, there are also social and service events throughout the year. These events include such things as retreats, setting out food for the Food Pantry's annual Thanksgiving basket event for those in need in the community, decorating Christmas cookies, and more. In addition, middle and high school youth are invited to be teen volunteers helping to lead the younger kids (PreK-5th graders) in science, service projects, recreation/games, story time, music, crafts, and more.
During the program year, this page will have updated information about the weekly Affirmation of Baptism lesson along with events in the congregation that may interest families with children in 6th-8th grade.
The youth are asked to complete nine worship notes each year. Find the link to the notes below. Send your completed notes to Pastor Z via email. See the contact us button at the bottom of the page for his email address.
Prayer
Gracious God, we give you thanks that you have given us your word through the writings of the faithful. We are grateful for your people who handed down their faith from generation to generation so that we may learn from them and about them. Amen
